Division Chief – Wing Luke Civil Rights Division
Location:
Seattle, Washington. The Division Chief will oversee the Division’s investigative and litigation work, public outreach, policy, and legislative advising as part of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
- Manage the Division’s investigative and litigation efforts, including overseeing attorneys, investigators, and staff.
- Develop and execute public outreach and community engagement programs.
- Lead policy, legislative, and advisory work within the Attorney General’s Office.
- Represent the Division in public or media settings on sensitive, high‑profile matters.
- Travel statewide (including overnight trips) and occasionally out of state.
- Ten or more years of civil litigation experience, including discovery, depositions, and courtroom work.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and supervision experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; cultural competence.
- Commitment to race equity, social justice, community lawyering, and structural reforms.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Excellent organization, time‑management, and ability to handle competing priorities.
- High level of motivation; ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Discretion, judgment, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Preferred: proficiency in a language in addition to English.
- Law school accredited by the ABA; licensed to practice law in Washington.
- Annual salary $187,600 plus benefits.
