Overview
CFWS Social Service Specialist 4 (SSS4) – Vancouver WA (Clark Office).
Salary: $6,107–$8,210 monthly with 10% assignment pay.
- Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, coaching, and consultation to staff.
- Assign work, review efficiency, use data to identify trends, and review case actions for accuracy and compliance with policy.
- Serve as Lead Specialist for the most complex cases.
- Report strengths and weaknesses of employees to their direct supervisor.
- Provide coverage of assigned caseloads and attend court hearings as needed.
- Fill in as supervisor in the supervisor’s absence.
- Seven years of paid social service experience, including at least one year assessing risk and safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services, and 30 semester or 45 quarter credits in a Social Services discipline.
- OR one year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 3.
- OR Master’s degree in social services, human services, or behavioral sciences with 30 semester or 45 quarter credits and two years of paid social service experience in public child welfare; a Master’s with practicum may substitute for one year of paid experience.
- OR Bachelor’s degree in social services or related discipline with 30 semester or 45 quarter credits and three years of paid social service experience in public child welfare.
- Ability to take action to learn and grow; ability to meet the needs of others.
- Prior public child welfare experience.
- Demonstrated case management experience.
- Knowledge of child development and/or family systems.
- Experience researching, interpreting, and applying laws and policies.
- Familiarity with agency software programs (Outlook, FAMLINK).
