Job Title

Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 (JRO2) – Snoqualmie, WA. Daily on-site attendance required.

Monthly pay: $5,666 (full-time). No additional premium for King County or 24/7 facility is included. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and the Washington State Employee Assistance Program.

Job Overview

Our mission is to ensure Washington state’s children and youth grow up safe and healthy—thriving physically, emotionally, and academically with the support of family and community. The Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 (JRO2) at Echo Glen Children’s Center provides security and safety services, mentors youth residents, and supports rehabilitative programming.

Responsibilities
  • Assist counselors, act as positive role model, and intervene in conflicts to maintain a safe environment.
  • Maintain awareness of verbal and written information from previous shifts.
  • Operate two-way radio and telephone communication devices.
  • Recognize and assess problem situations; respond immediately to emergent incidents.
  • Assess youth behavior for risk to self and others.
  • Supervise medication administration for residents.
  • Conduct routine and random security duties: perimeter checks, headcounts, SPL checks, key control, room searches, pat/frisk, and strip searches.
  • Escort residents during facility movements and appointments.
  • Perform basic data entry and incident reporting in the Automated Client Tracking (ACT) system.
Qualifications
  • One year as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 1, or
  • One year of relevant experience (criminal justice, youth services, counseling, education, psychology, sociology, behavioral health).
  • Ability to learn and grow, and to meet the needs of others.
  • Two years of college will substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Experience
  • Social services, youth group activities, security guard, correctional officer, police officer, military police or other law enforcement.
  • Certificate of completion in a basic law enforcement training program approved by the Washington Criminal Justice Training Commission, or a police/reserve police academy or military training program.
