Special Education Middle School Resource Room Teacher (0.5 FTE)

Walled Lake Consolidated Schools seeks an enthusiastic, energetic and effective Resource Room Teacher to work at Muir Middle School. The position reports to the Principal and is instructional for middle‑school special education students.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate.
  • Special Education endorsement required.
  • Certification in non‑violent crisis intervention training required, or will be provided.
• Essential Functions:
  • Provide instruction to students on Individualized Education Plans.
  • Communicate in writing and verbally with students, staff and families.
  • Progress monitor student growth, report data and provide grades.
  • Remain engaged while attending building and department meetings.
  • Continuously develop content knowledge and other school‑related topics to benefit students.
• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Language, Mathematical and Reasoning
  
  Skills:
  
  Effective speaking and writing, application of mathematical concepts, instruction following in written or oral format.
• Physical Demands:
  Regular sitting, talking, hearing; occasional standing, walking, reaching.
