Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and effective Great Start Readiness teacher to lead 3‑ and 4‑year‑old preschool children. The teacher will collaborate with the director, para educators, and families to deliver a child‑centered learning experience aligned with the High Scope Curriculum and the Head Start/Great Start Readiness program guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with ZA, ZS or ZO endorsement.
- High Scope curriculum and COR assessment training preferred.
- Current certification in infant, child and adult CPR and first aid training.
- Demonstrated experience working with preschool children ages 2‑5 years.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written – with young children, parents, teachers and office staff.
- Demonstrated skill in fostering parent‑school partnerships.
- Willingness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.
- Enthusiastic personality and evidence of initiative.
- Develop daily lesson plans aligned with the High Scope Curriculum and program guidelines.
- Coordinate instruction and classroom management with para educators.
- Use technology to record student progress.
- Develop individual learning plans for identified students.
- Conduct home visits and conferences with students’ parents/guardians.
- Ensure the physical, social, and emotional welfare of all students.
- Attend staff meetings, conferences, and in‑service trainings as required.
- Collaborate with para educators to maintain materials, equipment, and facilities in accordance with licensing.
- Utilize COR assessment to document student developmental status and progress.
- Participate in ongoing staff development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Instruction Department.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
