Full‑time - Seniority Level: Entry level
- Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with a ZA or ZS endorsement preferred. Minimum of a BA or BS in early childhood education or child development required.
- Training in The Creative Curriculum and early childhood assessment instruments preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and administrators, and to respond sensitively to culturally diverse families.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, organize, implement, and evaluate lesson plans using The Creative Curriculum.
- Experience supervising adults positively and fostering teamwork, with the ability to promote competency among colleagues.
- Current certification in Child CPR and Basic First Aid preferred.
- Experience working with at‑risk families and preschool‑aged children preferred.
- Competence in providing alternatives to the above qualifications that administration may deem appropriate.
- Show growth in professionalism per the Michigan Core Knowledge and Core Competencies for the Early Care and Education Workforce Document.
- Meet qualifications and responsibilities outlined in the Michigan State licensing rules for child care centers.
- Comply with all current board policies and staff handbooks of the Hazel Park School District.
- Attend mandatory professional development sessions, when applicable, per program requirements.
- Actively participate in program meetings as scheduled.
- Implement the Creative Curriculum with fidelity, measured by corresponding assessments.
- Assist in planning and implementing lessons with the GSRP Lead Teacher, following a team‑teaching model for all parts of the daily routine.
Salary in accordance with the Non‑Union Salary Pay Scale.
