Competitive Cheer Coach – Southfield A & T

Walled Lake Consolidated Schools seeks a full‑time Competitive Cheer Coach for the Southfield A & T district (November 2025 – March 2026). The coach will organize, plan, and lead the cheerleading program, teach cheers and stunts, promote school spirit, ensure safety, foster teamwork, and collaborate with the athletic department, school administration, and parents.

• Plan and conduct practices focused on cheer techniques, stunting, tumbling, and performance.
• Lead the cheer team in promoting school spirit at games, pep rallies, and special events.
• Choreograph routines for halftime shows, assemblies, and competitions.
• Emphasize safety, especially during stunts and tumbling activities.
• Promote a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, responsibility, and leadership.
• Ensure all participants meet eligibility, academic, and attendance requirements.
• Manage uniforms, equipment, and team fundraising efforts.
• Maintain open and professional communication with student‑athletes, parents, and school staff.
• Supervise athletes during all practices, games, competitions, and travel (if applicable).
• Support and enforce all school, district, and league policies.

• Prior experience as a cheer coach at the high school or club level or higher.
• Knowledge of cheer techniques, stunts, and performance skills.
• Ability to demonstrate skills, drills, and routines.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and motivate students in a positive manner.
• Experience with music editing and choreography.

Base pay range: $1,900.00 /yr. Salary paid at the end of the season per the SEA CBA payment calendar.
