Body Shop Tech Assistant – Executive Collision Center
Are you passionate about cars and interested in starting a career in the automotive repair industry? Join us as a Body Shop Tech Assistant! This entry-level role is perfect for someone with minimal experience or a recent graduate from a tech school. You’ll receive hands‑on training, working closely with experienced technicians, and gaining valuable skills in auto body repair and refinishing.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting Technicians – Support experienced body shop technicians with day‑to‑day tasks, including disassembly and reassembly of vehicles, preparing parts for painting, and other repair procedures.
- Vehicle Prep – Help with prepping vehicles for repair and painting by washing, masking, and sanding.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance – Ensure tools and equipment are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Quality Control – Assist in checking the quality of work performed to ensure it meets our high standards and customer expectations.
- Learning and Development – Participate in on‑the‑job training to develop skills in auto body repair, paint preparation, and refinishing techniques.
- Shop Maintenance – Help keep the body shop clean and organized, including sweeping floors and disposing of waste materials properly.
- Education – High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical school program in auto body repair is a plus.
- Experience – Minimal experience required. This role is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in the field.
- Skills – Basic knowledge of automotive parts and repair processes. Willingness to learn and a strong interest in the automotive repair industry.
- Physical Ability – Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy parts and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail – A keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Team Player – Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from senior technicians.
- Reliability – Punctual, dependable, and committed to completing tasks efficiently.
