Staff Purchaser

Location: Wallingford, CT (Onsite)

Salary Range: $38.50 - 49.50/hr

Job Description: The Staff Purchaser performs purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle, which includes ordering materials, supplies, and equipment, and following through with vendors on shipment and delivery.

• Prepare procurement documents and agreements
• Perform commercial bid evaluations and coordinate technical evaluations
• Enter purchase order information into the online purchasing system
• Expedite supplier submittals to support design and construction
• Prepare front-end documents, including prime agreement flow-downs
• Source and qualify potential suppliers
• Communicate and resolve procurement issues with stakeholders
• Compile procurement and expediting status reports
• Prepare RFPs and related documentation
• Receive, analyze, and recommend supplier proposals
• Update procurement status and material records
• Comply with all company policies and standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Law, or a Construction-related field, and 3 years of direct purchasing experience (required)
• Applicable experience may substitute for the degree requirement
• Preferred:
  Project purchasing experience
• Preferred:
  Oracle Financial R12 experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Preferred: CPM or CPSM Certification

• Travel: ~25% to Rhode Island, with potential future travel to Pennsylvania or Kentucky based on program needs
