DescriptionGaylord Hospital is seeking to hire a full-time Psychiatrist to join our team in providing exceptional care to both inpatient and outpatient populations. Gaylord Specialty Healthcare is a health system dedicated exclusively to medical rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric consultations and care for adolescent through geriatric patients who have experienced a range of complex medical illnesses, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, or other neurologic/medical diseases.
- Manage a diverse caseload of inpatients and outpatients
- Develop and grow the service on both the inpatient and outpatient side
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and hospital protocols
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an approved residency program in Psychiatry
- Board-eligible or Board-certified in Psychiatry
- Current Connecticut medical license or ability to obtain one
- Experience in acute care and consultation-liaison psychiatry preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practices
