Program Capacity VISTA
- Connecticut Foodshare
Connecticut Foodshare is the state's only Feeding America food bank. We support individuals and families – from one end of the state to the other – by addressing root causes, creating long‑term solutions, and distributing nutritious food through local partner programs in an effort to alleviate hunger. This position works with the Mobile Pantry and CSFP senior box programs to make improvements that will positively impact thousands of people who use these programs every month.
MemberDuties
- Visit Mobile Pantry and CSFP sites to understand program objectives, practices and challenges.
- Develop program improvements to increase value to neighbors attending the mobile pantry and to those receiving the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
- Instructional videos demonstrating best practices for serving guests at mobiles.
- Lead volunteer recruitment at mobile sites.
- Recruitment of third‑party services at mobiles and CSFP sites (Nutrition Education & other).
- Refine third‑party tracking process.
- CSFP process improvements as indicated by the Management Evaluation by DSS.
- Training.
