Benhaven's Career & Transition Services is looking for two (2) Full-time Instructional Assistants! Come join this fun and fast-paced team! Located in Wallingford area, and year-round position!
** Purpose of Position:**
This is a full-time 32 hour per week hourly (flexible) position. The Instructional Assistant will report directly to the Director. A great candidate must be enthusiastic and demonstrate a positive. The candidate must be able to demonstrate professionalism while working at a variety of sites such as college campuses, individuals’ employers and other community locations.
Responsibilities:
The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Enthusiasm for working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other related disabilities.
- Provide in-house academic, social and career skill building.
- Provide individual centered career and life goals.
- Ability to follow written protocols, yet have the ability and flexibility to think on your feet.
- Must display positive and professional attitudes.
- Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with various interdisciplinary service providers.
- Must show enthusiasm and excitement in supporting individuals’ learning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and insured vehicle in order to transport individuals in the community.
- Experience preferred but not necessary
- Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills required
- Must be willing to work as part of a team
