Energy & Utilities Analyst, Mechanical Engineer
Lead technical and economic studies for energy and utility clients in Wallingford, CT. Work under a consultant or project manager to develop solutions for power plants, transmission and distribution systems, and renewable development.
Responsibilities- Analyze engineering, financial, and economic conditions to complete tasks related to technical and business implications.
- Assist with life‑cycle cost analysis, including capital, O&M, performance, and economic forecasts.
- Support power system planning and operations analysis (power flow, stability, short circuit, reliability, economic dispatch).
- Develop and review engineering drawings and technical reports.
- Perform technical, engineering, economic, and financial studies for utility projects.
- Provide technical assessments and risk analyses for regulatory rules.
- Prepare client presentations, financial analyses, and contract administration for utility system design and planning.
- Support utility consulting business lines as required.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited program.
- Basic knowledge of standard engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical software.
- Strong attention to detail, collaboration, and organization.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
$85,000.00 – $ yearly. Base salary plus eligibility for a discretionary year‑end incentive bonus program.
