About This OpportunityThis position plans and performs engineering, design, and other technical/administrative tasks involved in the concept, development, and industrialization of products and processes throughout operations with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities- Handles varying degrees of complex mechanical, electrical & electronics assignments including solid state control systems, AC & DC drives, servo motors, device calibrations & voltages up to 480
VAC. - Monitor equipment performance & reacts to sub-standard performance & emergency repair needs. Install debugs & makes modifications to new installations.
- Efficiently operates across diverse assignments including all types of Planned and Unplanned work.
- Proficient use of computer, including all Windows based program, electrical & electronics test equipment, most hand tools & precision measuring instruments.
- Proficient with electrical drawing software (i.e., Solid Works, AutoCAD, etc.) used in design and build systems to support automated equipment.
- Able to understand & work from schematics, programming language, sketches, written & verbal instruction & complete assignments under minimal supervision.
- Understand, program, and apply a variety of software programs, as needed.
- Understand, program, and troubleshoot vision and precision inspection applications.
- Understand, program and troubleshoot robotic applications.
- Participate and Implement Root Cause Analysis & continuous improvement initiatives supporting Quality, Reliability & Engineering initiatives.
- Document new procedures, drawing sets and associated work instructions.
- Communicates & interacts with vendors, internal customers & colleagues as necessary.
- Operates equipment including startup & shutdown as necessary.
- Supports and participates in all housekeeping, LEAN & 6S opportunities.
- Consistently meets Safety, Quality & Operations standards, including repaired documentation, with all work assignments.
- Follow all company procedures and policies; wear required PPE as per JHAs and job descriptions; electrical hazard safety shoes with appropriate ratings may be required.
- Overtime/alternate schedules may be required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with minimal supervision.
- Associate of Science degree in related Engineering field or equivalent (3 years of industrial and/or military electronics) or possess a valid State of CT Electrical Unlimited Contractor License.
- Basic skills in engineering software, methodology, and test equipment.
- Good communication, interpersonal skills and report writing ability.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to do basic math and interpret data; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and work with multiple variables in standardized situations.
