Leading EPC firm is looking in Wallingford, CT to add an Environmental Monitoring Technician to a growing team. This role will oversee vegetation management activities and ensure project sites remain in full alignment with environmental regulations. The role is largely field-based, using GIS with occasional office days. Reliable transportation required.

• Conduct site inspections and spot checks of vegetation management activities to ensure strict adherence to environmental permits, erosion and sedimentation BMPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize GIS and mapping tools to reflag sensitive areas—including wetlands, cultural resource sites, and Threatened & Endangered species habitats—while coordinating with resource-specific monitors to protect site integrity.
• Serve as the primary field liaison by communicating compliance expectations to contractors, participating in weekly project status calls, and collaborating with utility arborists and oversight staff to ensure project alignment.
• Document field results through daily reporting and photography, while maintaining an active “punch-list” to track and resolve open environmental compliance items.
• Conduct pre‑clearing walk‑throughs and deliver specialized Threatened & Endangered species training to contractors and field personnel prior to commencement of work.
