A vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for a Clinical Psychologist in the Community Learning Disability Team, North Tyneside.
Join a multidisciplinary team that includes Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Community Learning Disability Nurses, and Support Workers.
We are a lifespan service providing a wide range of support to adults and children with learning disabilities and physical, mental, forensic, behavioural and dementia needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working in collaboration with individuals, their carers, families and professional colleagues to enhance health and well‑being, improve quality of life, address health inequalities, and promote positive health outcomes.
Responsibilities- Deliver specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment for clients in a Learning Disability setting.
- Provide clinical supervision to junior psychologists, assistant psychologists, and trainee clinical psychologists.
- Manage significant risk in the community and maintain clinical documentation.
- Participate in research and audit to support policy and service development.
- Model compassionate and inclusive leadership, fostering a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement and collaboration across teams.
- Post‑qualification experience as a Clinical Psychologist in a Learning Disability or closely aligned setting.
- Substantial experience in specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment.
- Formal training and at least 50 hours of clinical supervision as a Clinical Psychologist post‑qualification.
- Evidenced further specialist training/CPD in accordance with HCPC post‑qualification requirements.
- Forensic experience is highly valued.
