Medical Receptionist, Healthcare Administration
We are looking for two medical reception staff to join our team of superb receptionists who work across two sites. Both roles are for 16 to 20 hours per week.
Reception staff play an incredibly important part of our team and are the first point of contact for our patients.
Main duties of the job- To act as a welcoming and professional first point of contact for patients and organisations contacting the Practice
- Care navigate patients to the most appropriate service for their needs
- Provide a range of administrative duties
- Contribute to the smooth running of the practice
- Assist in effective communication between all members of the practice team, patients and other external agencies
We are a friendly and welcoming GP Practice in the heart of Wallsend, North Tyneside. The practice is based from a modern and beautiful building, providing care to our 21,000 registered patients.
We have 18 GPs supported by an excellent multi-disciplinary team. We are also a teaching practice for Doctors in Training and medical students.
Job responsibilities- Working in a busy environment, deal with inbound and outbound telephone calls in a timely and professional manner
- Provide an excellent level of customer service to patients over the phone, face to face or electronically
- Care navigate patients to the most appropriate service for their needs
- Solve a wide range of queries and requests from patients and other external agencies by following practice polices and processes
- Process repeat medication, fit note, patient online access and e-consultation requests
- Register new patients to the practice
- Any other duties as required
- Experience of working in a general practice environment
- Experience of dealing with the public/patients
- Experience of EMIS Clinical System
- Able to work effectively within a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Professional, friendly and positive outlook
- Supportive of fellow team members
- Able to adapt to and follow new processes and procedures
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£12.21 an hour Rising to £12.37 upon successful probationary period.
