Tax Preparer

Description

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper & Tax Preparer to support our busy tax season. You will primarily handle individual tax returns, contribute to light business tax filings, and manage full-cycle bookkeeping for select clients. Quick Books is a critical tool for day-to-day operations, so proficiency is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040 and related Schedules A-E)

+ Prepare a limited number of business returns (approx. 5%)

+ Complete full-service bookkeeping, including account reconciliations and monthly Profit & Loss (P& L) statements, for 4-5 clients using Quick Books

+ Manage data entry for insurance-related business as needed

+ Communicate with clients regarding missing information and filing status

+ Use Drake and Quick Books daily

- Requirements

Requirements:

+ Active CTEC registration (required)

+ 2+ years' experience in tax preparation (focus on individual returns)

+ Direct experience preparing Schedules A, B, C, D, and E

+ Strong Quick Books proficiency, including generating P& L reports and account reconciliation

+ Prior use of Drake software preferred, or ease with similar tax platforms

+ Bookkeeping experience from data entry through financial statement generation

+ Attention to detail, confidentiality, and strong organizational skills
