Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to support a contract engagement in Walnut Creek, California. This position will focus on bringing financial records current, maintaining accurate accounting data, and producing clear reporting for leadership review and year-end audit readiness. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, managing complete bookkeeping functions, and using Unanet to keep financial activity organized and up to date.

Responsibilities:

- Update outstanding bookkeeping records and financial reporting to ensure all prior-period activity is accurately captured.

- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger accuracy and full-cycle bookkeeping tasks.

- Perform monthly reconciliations for bank and credit card accounts, researching and resolving variances promptly.

- Prepare recurring financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other income reporting.

- Review account activity to identify posting errors, missing entries, and unusual balances, then make corrections as needed.

- Lead month-end and year-end close activities to support timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Assemble reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation required for audit preparation and external financial review.

- Partner with management and outside financial stakeholders to answer questions and provide requested accounting information. Requirements

- Demonstrated experience handling full-charge bookkeeping responsibilities in a detail-focused setting.

- Working knowledge of Unanet, with the ability to navigate accounting functions effectively.

- Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.

- Background supporting year-end close processes, audit preparation, and well-organized financial documentation.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and account review.

- High attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities independently in a contract role.

Experience using multiple ERP systems such as Net Suite, MS Dynamics, SAP, and Quick Books
