Dependable Bookkeeper Needed

We are looking for a dependable bookkeeper to support the daily accounting needs of a small commercial property management company in Walnut Creek, California. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on transactional accounting and takes pride in keeping financial records accurate and current. The position will focus on core bookkeeping activities across payables, receivables, and account reconciliations for a portfolio of commercial properties.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including reviewing invoices, assigning accurate expense codes, and preparing payments to vendors.
• Record rent receipts and other tenant-related charges, ensuring account activity is posted correctly and on schedule.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date vendor files, including tax documentation and supporting records.
• Monitor outstanding tenant balances, update ledger details, and assist with follow-up on overdue payments when needed.
• Reconcile bank accounts each month across multiple properties to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Review and balance credit card activity, verifying that all transactions are properly entered and supported.
• Keep organized bookkeeping documentation and accounting records for day-to-day operational use and audit readiness.
• Partner with property management staff to track payments, clarify account activity, and support accurate financial processing.
