Senior Account Manager, Group Benefits
Position:
Senior Account Manager, Group Benefits (Walnut Creek, CA)
Responsibilities include mentoring the account management service team, managing client accounts, coordinating renewal processes, conducting open enrollment meetings, auditing client information, and other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate workflow & monitor workload balance for service team.
- Assist with training new and existing team members.
- Guide service team in handling difficult and complex service issues.
- Manage internal policies and procedures to safeguard against potential Errors & Omissions.
- Support and mentor account management service team.
- Marketing and account management for assigned clients.
- Coordinate renewal marketing process & provide program structure, review, and analysis.
- Provide technical competence in coverage & current markets.
- Conduct/participate in annual open enrollment meetings, health fairs, webinars.
- Audit client information, premium, commissions in Broker Builder.
- Educate and clarify coverage forms to clients.
- Maintain Benefits Administration systems.
- Prepare written annual account service plans.
- Spreading marketing results, including benefit comparisons.
- Document thoroughly and follow E&O procedures.
- Handle complex accounts that are partially self-funded or self-insured.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- High School graduate/GED required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in group health insurance or benefits brokerage/consulting.
- Active CA Life & Disability license required.
- Ability to mentor and develop service team members.
- Adaptable, self-starter, with decision-making skills.
- Effective written & oral communication and collaboration skills.
- Problem-solving, analytical, and marketing skills.
- Critical thinker; identify problems and implement solutions.
- Organized with effective time management.
- Proficient with MS Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables preferred).
- Professional demeanor and behavior.
- Embodies the Heffernan Habits.
Base salary range: $ to . Eligible for discretionary annual incentive program. Comprehensive benefits package available.
