Job Summary
Under the direction of the Family Programming Director, the Kids Program Instructor delivers engaging and educational recreational experiences that enhance our after‑school learning program. This role ensures the consistent delivery of professional, high‑quality programs for youth members in grades K–12, always striving to exceed expectations.
Primary Job Functions- Create engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for a variety of age groups
- Create and display a weekly schedule that outlines activities for the day that students and parents can refer to
- Provide support to ensure every student is engaged and successful
- Extensive knowledge of age‑appropriate sports and fitness coaching and instructional techniques
- Be flexible and forward‑thinking, always have a backup plan and be ready to execute
- Plan and lead age‑appropriate sports activities such as drills, scrimmages, and games to foster skill development and fun.
- Greet parents and children warmly; encourage participation with enthusiasm.
- Engage with kids during sessions, ensuring all children are actively participating, with extra attention to those needing guidance.
- Safely transfer kids to and from activities within the Club.
- Arrive punctually for all scheduled activities and ensure all equipment is set up and stored correctly before and after use.
- Represent the club professionally through positive interactions, appropriate attire, and timely responses.
- Communicate with the Family Programming Director and parents in a timely and professional manner regarding child's progress or any issues.
- Actively participate in camp events, programs, staff meetings, training sessions, and marketing efforts related to kids programming.
- Flexibility in work schedule, as job may require day and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children in a childcare, babysitting, camp, coaching, or instructional setting.
- Strong background in recreational programming, age‑appropriate instruction, and effective group management.
- Genuine passion for inspiring children through fun, fitness, and learning.
- CPR certification required.
- Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude.
- Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player.
- Self‑motivated, takes initiative, and willing to acquire new skills.
- Well‑organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to arrive at work on time for all scheduled work shifts required. Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays required.
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment.
- Position requires daily public contact.
- It is sometimes necessary to deal with unpleasant or angry people with the need to problem solve difficult situations.
- It is necessary to adapt to a frequently changing environment.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to climb or balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally sit for extended periods and regularly walk around the facility.
- Must occasionally talk and hear.
- Must frequently move 10 pounds and in the event of an emergency lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required but this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Estimated Base Pay Range: $18.00 - $27.00 / hour

- Offered to Full‑Time associates. Full‑Time status eligibility starting at 20 average hours of work per week.
