Wireless Network Consulting Engineer

Responsible for the delivery of Wireless Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco's major accounts. Performs architectural planning and design along with configuration and integration support. Also provides operational support for complex, large scale wireless network deployments. Identifies & documents design/architecture best practices for global Cisco Services adoption.

EDUCATION: Typically requires BSEE/CS or equivalent plus 5-10 years experience in a technical consulting, network engineering or telecommunications support environment. MS strongly preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• -In depth knowledge of Wireless technology
• -Strong understanding of Cable and Mobile Wireless Service Provider Architectures
• -RF Design, RF Survey/Engineering and RF troubleshooting skills
• -WLAN and IOS infrastructure configuration skills
• -Thorough understanding of 802.11 Wi-Fi standards, WLAN security and network management
• -Experience designing and deploying advanced WLAN applications such as Public Wi-Fi, Secure Mobility, Voice over WLAN, Location Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access
• -Expert level Inter-networking troubleshooting in a large scale network environment.
• -Strong Technical Account management skills.
• -Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• -In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability, QOS, Mobile IP, & capacity planning.
• -Experience using WLAN tools such as Air Magnet, Cisco Spectrum Expert, and Omnipeek
• -Experience with products involved in an SP Wi-Fi solution such as Access Points, WLAN Controllers, Cisco Company management system, Mobility Services Engine, Cisco ISG, Cisco Access Registrar, Cisco Client, Broadhop QNX, Cisco ASR 5000.
