Electrical Engineer – Wastewater / Infrastructure ( HYBRID )
Base range: $175,000. To $210,000
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the design and engineering of electrical systems for diverse projects, including commercial, industrial, and public facilities. This includes power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Project Management:
Manage and supervise electrical engineering projects, from conception to completion, ensuring they are executed within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations. - Technical Expertise:
Provide technical guidance and expertise to project teams. Conduct complex electrical system analyses, load calculations, and studies to optimize system performance and energy efficiency. - Design and Documentation:
Prepare detailed electrical design plans, calculations, specifications, and construction drawings. Review and approve designs created by junior engineers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. - Coordination:
Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly within projects. Coordinate with external partners and vendors as necessary. - Quality Assurance:
Ensure quality control and quality assurance for electrical designs. Conduct thorough reviews of electrical drawings and specifications to identify potential issues and ensure a high standard of work. - Site Inspections:
Conduct site visits and inspections to verify the quality of electrical installations, resolve technical issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications. - Client Interaction:
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns, providing updates, and ensuring their satisfaction with the electrical engineering aspects of the projects. - Code Compliance:
Stay abreast of local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on building systems and infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of California electrical codes and regulations.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interactions, presentations, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient electrical design practices.
