Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking a transportation Supervising Structural Engineer with minimum of 20 years of experience in design of new transportation structures such as highway, transit and rail bridges.

Experience with inspection and rehabilitation of existing structures is a plus. The successful candidate will be required to supervise senior engineers in performing analysis, developing designs, contract drawings, and specifications for various infrastructure and transportation related projects. This role is full-time, though part-time will be considered as well. Key Responsibilities Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering of transportation structures.

Preparing design calculations, drawings, and details for various transportation projects.

Design of new structures and rehabilitation of existing structures.

Review of shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, respond to request for information, oversee testing and monitoring programs.

Lead client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meeting, review comments etc. Clients include public agencies and private clients.

Supervising other structural staff and coordinating with other design departments to complete projects.

Supervise and mentor junior structural staff.

Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on complex structural designs

Lead or assist in structural aspects for Marketing & Business Development Your Capabilities and Credentials Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.

Proficient in steel, masonry, timber and concrete (incl. precast and prestressed) design.

Proficiency in Structural Analysis with SAP 2000, Csi Bridge, Midas or similar software.

Strong background preparing bridge design calculations and plans per Caltrans Standards.

Thorough understanding of design codes and agency standards such as AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, and CBC.Proficiency in seismic analysis and design for highway and rail bridges

Previous experience on California High Speed Rail Projects is a plus.

You place a high emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of your work. In addition, your strong leadership and team building skills are essential to meet the expectations of this challenging position.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree highly desired.
20 years’ experience in the structural design for bridges and infrastructure with Caltrans experience.
