Registered Nurse – Preoperative/Postoperative

The preoperative/postoperative registered nurse delivers patient care during the pre‑operative and post‑operative periods of the surgical experience through the framework of the nursing process.

• Assess patient pre‑operative needs and educate patients and families.
• Provide post‑operative care, monitor patient status and troubleshoot complications.
• Document nursing care, collaborate with surgical team and promote patient safety.

• BSN preferred; RN license in California.
• Pre‑Op/PACU experience desired.

• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) card
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card

• Regular exposure to contagious and blood borne diseases.
• Subject to unpredictable situations and emergency situations.
• Exposure to radiation hazards, anesthetic gases and bio‑hazardous material.
• Irregular hours and occasional pressure from multiple calls and inquiries.

Shift: Day (no weekends). Salary: $45–$65 per hour.
