Job Overview
Cook position at California Fish Grill. Prepare, direct, and serve food while ensuring safety, quality, and cleanliness of the kitchen environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare or direct preparation of food using established procedures.
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required.
- Ensure availability of supplies and approved substitutions timely.
- Set steam table and maintain proper food temperatures.
- Serve food for tray line or dining, ensuring proper presentation.
- Comply with sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health protocols.
- Store food properly, marking date and location.
- Report equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal service hours.
- Apportion food to meet nutritional and quality standards.
- Keep work area neat and clean, including dishwashing.
- Clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.
- Complete food temperature checks before serving.
- Complete in-service training, attendance, and uniform requirements.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of California Fish Grill.
- Implement safety procedures, including fire/safety plans and risk management.
- Maintain confidentiality of all data and food-related information.
- Ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Work cooperatively with team members and resolve conflicts.
- Use appropriate communication skills in sensitive situations.
- Follow up with supervisors and colleagues on reported complaints or issues.
- Promote positive public relations with residents and families.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

- High School Diploma or GED, and 2–3 years of related work experience.
- Prior experience in related food service positions.
