Cook/Dietary Aide Part-Time (Food Services)
Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen and cooking area. Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities, following prepared menus and portion control guides. Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures. Prepare pureed foods and present food appealingly to residents. Work cooperatively with all departments and assist with serving meals. Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and maintain sanitizer solutions.
Report resident care concerns to the Administrator or Director of Nurses. Participate in staff orientation and ongoing training. Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility.
- Ability to read technical procedures and recipes.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions.
- Must obtain and maintain Serv Safe Certification.
- Knowledge of PCC preferred and good standing with the Department of Public Health.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, and smelling.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Work Environment: Usually low to moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
