Position: Manufacturing Supplier Quality Leader (SQM)

Overview

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQM) role at Siemens Healthineers. This position is within Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company. You will ensure and improve supplier quality outcomes in the medical capital equipment arena, support the implementation of SQM requirements regarding preventive actions, technical specifications and qualification of suppliers, and act as SQM contact in cross-functional teams. We are hiring for 3 remote regions:
Malvern, PA (Northeast);
Chicago, IL (Midwest); and California (West Coast).

We are looking for a collaborative professional to join a global team focused on high-quality supplier management and cross-functional partnership to drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Do
  • Support Global Strategic Supplier Quality Management by driving global supplier relationship management and development, ensuring alignment with company objectives and standards.
  • Collaborate with SQEs across sites to ensure consistent communication and feedback on supplier performance.
  • Foster Global Supplier Partnership and Quality Improvement by building long-term supplier partnerships, driving continuous improvement on critical quality issues, and implementing proactive quality measures; use tools such as the PQ/SQ Dashboard to establish performance baselines and develop ongoing improvement activities with suppliers; experience with PPAP/SPC and other quality management tools.
  • Support Supplier selection and onboarding, including supplier development and compliance to quality standards; monitor performance, conduct audits, and drive improvements; support supplier evaluation activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Enhance Cross-Functional Collaboration by strengthening partnerships with Strategic Procurement, site SQEs, and engineering teams to resolve supplier-related issues; organize regular meetings with Site SQEs to gain a global understanding of supplier performance; develop close working relationships with Strategic Procurement, Commodity Managers, and site SQEs to improve collaboration.
  • Additional Responsibilities: effectively resolve supplier issues, communicate escalated or emerging issues, monitor supplier data and KPIs, reduce warranty and non-conformance costs, and drive assigned QatS deliverables.
What You Will Have
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical fields or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain and Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%, potentially on short notice.
What Will Set You Apart
  • Experience in healthcare and medical technology sector; strong understanding of ISO
    13485 and ISO
    9001 preferred.
  • Certifications such as ISO Certified Lead Auditor, CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, and PPAP/APQP experience/certification.
  • Effective communication with internal and external partners.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual base pay range for this position is $114,400 – $171,600. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. This position may be eligible for commissions in accordance with company plans.
