Biochemist 1 – Chromatography Work center – Weekend Coverage
Siemens Healthineers is seeking an ambitious professional to provide weekend coverage in a chromatography manufacturing environment. The primary focus is on manufacturing and auditing batches for the Concentrates work center, with potential involvement in the Purification work center.
Job Overview• Weekend coverage:
Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday – Thursday with training on Monday – Friday.
• Handle hazardous and DEA‑controlled materials.
• Demonstrate understanding of formulation processes, equipment, and compliance.
• Work collaboratively, documenting processes clearly and maintaining FDA/DEA compliant laboratory standards.
- Manufacturing of Concentrates, Purified Antibodies, and Purified Conjugates via liquid chromatography.
- Auditing and GMP/GDP verification of batch records and product release responsibilities.
- Follow established manufacturing protocols to conjugate and/or isolate proteins for immunological assays.
- Prepare buffers and chromatography columns.
- Maintain legible and accurate batch records according to GMP.
- Make decisions and execute critical steps in the manufacturing process.
- Provide Quality Notification Support and execute temporary manufacturing deviations and pilot products.
- Complete all necessary training activities and be willing to work off‑shift hours if required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related science (or equivalent work experience).
- 3–5 years manufacturing work experience with chromatography experience.
- Proficiency with basic lab equipment (pipettes, balances, centrifuges) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organizational, mathematical, and critical thinking skills.
- Legible handwriting; ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Pass a DEA background check.
- Experience with AKTAs.
- Background in manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with GMP/GDP guidelines.
Base Pay Range: $79,800 – $119,700. Compensation may vary by geography, skills, education, and experience. This position may be commission eligible per company plan.
