Office-Based Senior Accountant Practice

Senior Accountant job in Walsall with a well-established and growing accountancy practice. This is a fully office-based role, ideally suited to an experienced practice accountant living within a reasonable commuting distance of Walsall.

The firm is looking for an Accounts Senior / Senior Accountant who enjoys hands-on general practice work and managing a varied client portfolio.

This is a broad general practice Senior Accountant position, covering:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships

• Corporation tax and personal tax returns

• VAT returns (standard, flat rate and other schemes)

• Bookkeeping and double-entry accounting

• Liaising directly with clients and providing practical advice

• Reviewing work prepared by junior staff where appropriate

The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to play a key role within a stable, friendly team.

This role will suit someone who:

• Is ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE)

• Has strong experience in a UK accountancy practice

• Is confident preparing accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105

• Has hands-on experience with VAT, tax and general practice compliance

• Is comfortable managing a client portfolio and dealing with clients directly

• Has experience using software such as Sage, Quick Books, Xero, CCH, Tax Calc or similar

Candidates currently working as Senior Accountant, Accounts Senior, Practice Accountant or Assistant Manager are encouraged to apply.

• Salary £40,000 – £50,000, depending on experience
