Position: Residential Childcare Worker (Casual) - Ref: CH05725

Residential Childcare Worker (Casual) –

Salary: G6 £ 30,024 (pro‑rata if part‑time)

Contract: Casual (no guaranteed hours)

Location: Walsall Council – residential homes

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care for children living in the home.
  • Engage with children and support them in achieving positive outcomes.
  • Assist with daily tasks such as cooking, homework, garden sports, and meal preparation.
  • Attend meetings, address challenging behaviour and prepare reports.
  • Maintain a safe, personalised, small‑group care environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 3 residential childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a residential sector.
  • 21 years of age or older (must be four years older than the oldest resident as required by the Department for Education).
  • Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance; must declare any overseas residence and supply an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate (OCRC) or Statement of Good Conduct (SOGC) if applicable.
