Senior Quantity Surveyor - Main Contractor
Location:
Mid & North Wales / North West (Hybrid)
Salary/Package: £65,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance + Performance Bonus
About the CompanyOur client is a growing regional main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across Mid and North Wales, the West Midlands, and the North West. Specialising in refurbishment, maintenance, and new build schemes, they work across the commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, residential, and public sectors, building long-term relationships through quality delivery and exceptional client service.
With a strong pipeline of secured work and a collaborative approach to project delivery, the business offers a supportive environment where employees are empowered to take ownership of their work. As part of their continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.
The Role- Take full commercial ownership of projects from contract award through to final account
- Produce accurate CVRs, forecasts, cash flow reports, and commercial reporting
- Procure subcontractors and manage subcontract accounts
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Manage project costs, commercial risks, and identify opportunities to maximise profitability
- Administer contracts, primarily under JCT forms of contract (NEC experience advantageous)
- Work closely with Contracts Managers and site teams to improve project performance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and consultants
- Report directly to the Commercial Manager and Directors, providing commercial insight across projects
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or be a strong Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a senior role
- Experience with in a Main Contractor environment
- Strong commercial experience across refurbishment, maintenance, and new build projects
- Excellent knowledge of CVRs, forecasting, cost control, and commercial reporting
- Experience procuring subcontractors and managing subcontract accounts
- Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts (NEC knowledge would be advantageous)
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and general IT skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Full UK Driving Licence
- MRICS or MCIOB status, or a desire to work towards professional accreditation, would be advantageous
- Competitive basic salary of £65,000 - £70,000
