Customer Service Advisor

A six-month fixed-term post in the Customer Services Team at whg, a Midlands housing association. The job covers customer enquiries by phone, email, social media and other digital channels, plus a face-to-face reception desk at the main office where customers are helped to use self-service. It is full-time at 37 hours a week with hybrid working, and is open to internal and external applicants.

Assessment takes place on 13 November 2026, and the vacancy may close early if applications come in quickly.

• Handle customer enquiries across telephone, email, social media and other digital platforms
• Provide face-to-face service at the main office reception, helping customers use self-service platforms
• Resolve enquiries in a timely, professional way at first point of contact
• Work with other service areas to find solutions to complex customer enquiries
• Challenge inefficient processes, recommend improvements and attend cross-functional workshops

• A good standard of education

• Experience in a customer-facing role, by telephone or face to face

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, explaining things clearly
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Calm, confident handling of pressure, conflict and sensitive issues, with an empathetic approach while managing customer expectations
