Main duties of the jobMain Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients in accordance with the latest guidance and best practice standards.
- Undertake a range of consultations including face-to-face, telephone and online appointments.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Contribute to clinical meetings, case discussions, and quality improvements initiatives.
- Participate in management of patients with chronic disease and complex needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using our clinical system.
- Support the practice in achieving QOF, enhanced services, and other performance targets.
The Nile Practice is a friendly, well-established practice providing high-quality care to our local community. We have a list size of around 10,000 patients across 3 sites, Cheslyn Hay, Cannock and Hednesford. Our current team includes 2 Partners, 4 ANP's, a multidisciplinary team including Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist, Mental Health Counsellor, Physiotherapist and Social Prescriber.

Job summary. To work as an autonomous practitioner,responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population,delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMScontract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards forgood medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
1 Primary Responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, lab reports,Workflow documents, repeat prescription requests and other associatedadministrative tasks
Any private work done during the working day i.e. PMAs, medical reports, will becarried as part of normal duties and all fees received for such remain the property of the Practice
In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations,video consultations, telephone consultations and queries, covering urgent careduties and visiting patients at home
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhereto best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF
Attendand contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including;clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
Committo self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
Reviewand adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a cultureof continuous improvement at all times
Ingeneral, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal dutiesand responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
