We are working with a large, well-established secondary academy in the Walsall area to appoint an English specialist for a 6‑week placement from January.

This is a forward‑thinking academy within a national multi‑academy trust, known for clear behaviour systems, strong leadership presence, and a structured approach to teaching and learning. The school serves a diverse community and places a strong emphasis on consistency, routines, and high expectations.

• Teaching English across KS3 and KS4
• Full teaching responsibility, including planning and marking
• Well‑resourced English department with shared schemes of work
• Supportive on‑site leadership and pastoral structures
• Clear behaviour policy that is consistently applied across the school

• QTS preferred, however the school is open to strong instructors
• Minimum 6 months' experience teaching English long‑term
• Confident with planning, delivery, and marking
• Calm, resilient, and consistent classroom presence
• Comfortable working in a structured, high‑expectations environment

• A busy but well‑organised school day
• Pupils who respond well to clear boundaries and routine
• Strong senior leadership visibility
• A professional, no‑nonsense culture focused on progress and outcomes

• An experienced supply or long‑term English teacher
• An instructor looking to gain experience in a large academy setting
• Someone seeking a short, defined placement with clear expectations
