We are seeking a committed and proactive Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students within our care.

• To undertake activities as part of the safeguarding team including managing safeguarding referrals regarding students.
• To complete relevant paperwork and update safeguarding systems.
• To attend safeguarding meetings for students.
• To attend relevant training and events.
• To undertake home visits for vulnerable students absent from school.
• To liaise with parents and carers of students regarding safeguarding.
• Communicate with external professionals or agencies regarding safeguarding issues including making referrals where appropriate.
• To provide support for students, as appropriate.
• To liaise with staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
• To collate and monitor safeguarding data.
• Understand the filtering and monitoring systems and processes in place in the school, including how to manage them effectively and escape concerns when identified.
• Make sure that the filtering and monitoring systems and processes block harmful and inappropriate content without unreasonably impacting teaching and learning.
• To maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour and to uphold the Nolan Principles.
• To have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and to ensure that the Academy’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy along with e‑Safety Policies are adhered to.
• To adhere to the Code of Conduct which is provided annually.
• All employees are expected to work within the confines of the Data Protection Act and to take appropriate measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of data.
• To adhere to the Academy’s Health and Safety Policy.

Start date:
To be agreed with successful candidate.

Salary: £22,000-£26,000 actual salary (term time only); 37.5 hours per week, 190 days per year plus professional development days. Full-time preferred, but part-time will be considered
