Nurture Teacher – SEMH School – Walsall
Are you an experienced SEMH Teacher or Nurture Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? Do you enjoy teaching across the curriculum, inspiring a love for learning and helping young people to access education? This excellent SEMH school in Walsall is looking to add an engaging and resilient Nurture Teacher to the team to teach a small class of Key Stage 3 students with SEMH needs and very challenging behaviours.
The students in this class are working at Key Stage 2 level, and this role is suitable for a QTS teacher from either a primary or secondary background. As a Nurture Teacher you will be responsible for covering literacy, numeracy and humanities, planning and delivering lessons that are interactive and engaging. Strong communication and classroom management skills are essential for this role, and resilience is paramount.
Your class will be supported by 3 brilliant Teaching Assistants who will help manage behaviour and provide tailored support for students.
- Teaching a small class of Key Stage 3 students with SEMH and moderate learning needs.
- Delivering a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual abilities and interests.
- Managing behaviour effectively and promoting positive engagement in learning.
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality support.
- Building trusting relationships with students, parents, and external professionals.
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment.
- Working in a supportive SEMH school with an experienced and approachable leadership team.
