Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a flexible cover supervisor to work across secondary schools in the Walsall Area. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work in education who are confident leading a classroom and supporting students’ learning during teacher absences.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment. Work is offered on a day-to-day and short-term basis, providing flexibility to suit your availability.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials
- Ensure students stay on task and complete the work set by the absent teacher
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful learning environment
- Take attendance and report any issues or concerns to school staff
- Provide brief feedback to teachers on lesson outcomes
- Follow all safeguarding and school procedures
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Experience working with young people.
- Confident managing groups of students aged 11–16 or 11–18.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good behaviour management and classroom presence.
- Flexible, reliable and professional approach.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
