About This Role

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive to join our team and work to provide positive learning experiences for all our pupils. The successful candidate will possess clear communication skills and the ability to relate well to both pupils and staff.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and strong leader who will support the work of the senior leadership team in ensuring high standards of pupil attainment and achievement within the whole curriculum and will monitor and support pupil progress. The successful candidate will be ambitious, career driven, and have a firm commitment to raising whole school achievement.

Specific responsibilities include the day‑to‑day management of behaviour, the leadership and management of a key stage (or phase), leading the development and implementation of strategies to support student welfare, managing behaviour effectively, and fostering positive attitudes towards learning. They will promote a positive school culture and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment.

The successful candidate will assist in the development of policies and strategies to support student welfare and manage behaviour. They will work closely with the Principal, wider Senior Leadership Team and other staff to ensure coherent planning and high standards. They will be expected to mentor and coach other teachers and support staff to help them achieve the school's expectations and standards.

The successful post holder will retain any existing leadership responsibility within the school.

Applicants must possess a teaching qualification and be a highly competent classroom practitioner. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of how children learn, assessment for learning, and how to effectively manage behaviour.

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Have high expectations of themselves, students and the academy for standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.
  • Have a successful leadership experience gained as a middle leader.
  • Have a record of sustained impact on vulnerable students’ progress in their learning and outcomes.
  • Have knowledge of relevant national, local and legal issues with regards to SEND, attendance, suspensions and exclusions, alternative provision, admissions and appeals.
  • Have successful experience of using target setting, data analysis and curriculum innovation to improve the performance of vulnerable students.
  • Have strong organisational, personal time management and planning skills.
  • Have knowledge and experience of, or willingness to learn about, effective leadership and management of people/management of change in an educational setting.
