Teaching Assistant – Witherslack Group

You will work with children and young people with autistic spectrum disorder, social, emotional and mental health needs. Your role is to support learning, development and self‑esteem, helping pupils cope with challenges and celebrating progress. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver a personalised learning experience.

Responsibilities

Provide practical assistance during lessons and activities.

Support teachers in delivering lesson plans.

Assist pupils with communication, behaviour and emotional regulation.

Maintain accurate and confidential pupil records.

Collate and communicate progress information to support  resilient, committed, and enthusiastic about positive change.

Qualifications & Experience

Prior classroom or childcare experience is preferred but not essential; we will provide induction and training.

Strong team‑working and communication skills.

Passion for supporting children who have special educational and emotional needs.

Capacity to handle the demands of a fluctuating, supportive environment.
