Teacher – Alternative Provision (Key Stage
3)
Are you a dynamic, engaging, and dedicated teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to support young people who face barriers to education? Do you have the classroom management skills and compassion needed to engage students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours? This alternative provision in Walsall is looking to appoint a committed Teacher to lead a Key Stage 3 class.
As a teacher at this school, you will work with a small class of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced difficulties within mainstream education. You will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons while creating a calm, structured and supportive environment where students can rebuild confidence and re‑engage with learning. This role requires a teacher who is happy teaching across the curriculum and differentiating lessons to meet different ability levels.
The school offers an outstanding support structure, with experienced Teaching Assistants, pastoral teams and senior leaders working closely together to support both students and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about helping young people achieve positive outcomes and who is looking to develop further within a specialist setting. This role requires QTS or QTLS.
Job Role:- Teaching a small Key Stage 3 class of students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours
- Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Creating a structured and supportive classroom environment
- Building positive relationships to support engagement and progress
- Managing behaviour using consistent and positive strategies
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and leadership
- Supporting students’ emotional wellbeing and personal development
- Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
- Work within a supportive and well-structured alternative provision
- Benefit from strong leadership and excellent staff support
- Teach small classes with outstanding support from Teaching Assistants
