Job Title: Prep School Teacher
Contract: Permanent - Full Time
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £31,671 up to £43,635 per annum

Role PurposeTo fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher and to meet the expectations set out in the teaching standards. To demonstrate great care for each child’s well‑being and learning progression.
To ensure the effective teaching of all pupils, helping them to develop both inside and outside the classroom. Support the policies and aims of the school and ensure the good social, emotional and physical development of every child.
What you’ll be doing- Deliver engaging and high‑quality lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning to ensure excellent pupil progress and achievement.
- Promote a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment that supports pupil wellbeing.
- Monitor, record and report on pupils’ academic, personal and social development.
- Provide pastoral support as a Form Tutor, fostering positive relationships with pupils and families.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum content, teaching strategies and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers and external agencies to support pupil success.
- Contribute to the school’s vibrant extra‑curricular programme and wider school community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and the school’s performance management process.
- Attend school events, parents’ evenings, assemblies and other key school functions as required.
- A good university degree
- Qualified teacher status (ECTs are encouraged to apply)
- PGCE or equivalent
- A willingness to play a full part in a busy independent day school
- Good classroom management
- Flexibility
- Well‑organised, creative and innovative
- Efficient in Microsoft Office
- Recent experience with assessment, recording and reporting
- Excellent punctuality and attendance
- Excellent organisational skills
- High expectations for achievement and behaviour, with a commitment to drive improvement in a non‑selective school
- Willingness to commit to the whole school ethos and values
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents, and pupils
