Teacher – Walsall Campus
Care First – Manor Farm, Birmingham. Salary: £39,000 per annum.
Hours:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Contract:
Permanent, Term Time Only. Eligibility: UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
We are looking for a committed and skilled Teacher to deliver high‑quality inclusive education to pupils with special educational needs, SEMH, autism, and associated needs, helping them achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Responsibilities- Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the college curriculum, adapting strategies to meet the needs of learners with SEND and SEMH.
- Develop, review and implement Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans and Personal Learning Goals, contributing to EHCP reviews.
- Use baseline assessments and progress tracking to inform teaching and monitor learner outcomes.
- Promote positive behaviour, manage challenging behaviour and support learner wellbeing in collaboration with pastoral teams.
- Ensure safeguarding practices are followed, report concerns promptly and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievement, contributing to quality improvement and self‑evaluation processes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, data protection and safeguarding policies.
- Collaborate with multi‑professional teams, external agencies and parents/carers to support learners effectively.
- Organise classroom resources, displays and support exam and assessment coordination to create a stimulating learning environment.
- Maintain high professional standards, attend CPD and team meetings and undertake additional duties as directed by the Campus Lead.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, including working with learners with SEND and/or SEMH.
- Experience planning and delivering differentiated lessons and managing behaviours of concern.
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements.
- Ability to tailor teaching to individual learner needs, with effective communication, interpersonal, organisational and IT skills.
- Relevant teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS preferred) and a degree in Education or a related subject, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Willingness to undertake further training and CPD.
- Empathetic, solution‑focused, resilient, adaptable, committed to inclusion and learner‑centred approaches, with high expectations for learners and staff.
- Kind, patient and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Driving licence and willingness to travel between sites locally and nationally as required.
