Walsall Council is seeking an experienced and confident Pupil Place Planning Manager to lead the strategic planning and delivery of sufficient school places across the borough. This key role supports statutory responsibilities for early years, primary, secondary, post-16 and specialist provision within the Access service.

• Provide specialist advice, analyse and interpret complex data, and prepare pupil forecasts.
• Lead school organisation and sufficiency planning.
• Work closely with schools, senior leaders, elected members, the Department for Education and other partners.
• Manage staff, lead consultations and support capital projects.
• Ensure services are delivered effectively, within budget and in line with statutory requirements.

• Strong knowledge of education legislation, school organisation, admissions and sufficiency planning.
• Proven experience using data to inform strategic decisions.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with ability to build productive relationships and manage competing priorities.
• Experience resolving complex issues and presenting clear advice to diverse audiences.

• Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, as required by Council policy.
• Effective spoken English in line with the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty.
• If previously lived, studied or worked abroad, declaration of overseas criminal records or Statement of Good Conduct.
