Here at Brownhills Ormiston Academy, we are looking for an exceptional Careers Advisor to inspire students to think about their future possibilities; to aim high, motivating them in school as well as beyond, ensuring they are informed about education, training and career options.
Responsibilities- Ensure the academy fulfills its duty to students by working with employers and others to inspire young people about the world of work and their future possibilities.
- Meet Gatsby Benchmarks and National Quality Careers Mark standards, ensuring students are fully informed about education, training and career options.
- Encourage students to aim high and motivate them both in school and beyond.
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for development and help them acquire employer‑valued skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all interactions.
- Work as part of the Pastoral team and the quality of education team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to relate well to students and staff.
- Commitment, energy, and drive to provide positive learning experiences.
- Organised, reliable, trustworthy, enthusiastic and efficient.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and understanding of confidentiality.
- Suitable suitability checks (identity, Right to Work, qualifications, DBS, etc.) as per SREO.

All successful appointments will be subject to suitability checks in accordance with KCSIE, including identity, Right to Work, qualifications, online searches, prohibition check, two references and enhanced DBS check including Children’s Barred List.
