Role Description This is a part time, on-site Tutor role based in Walsall. The Tutor will deliver engaging lessons in line with the centre’s curriculum, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, supporting learners with homework and exam preparation, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback to students and their families or caregivers.
The Tutor will maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment, manage small group sessions, and ensure all learners feel supported and encouraged. The role also involves collaborating with centre staff, attending training or team meetings, and contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching resources and practices.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in core areas such as English, Mathematics, and/or Science, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners of varying abilities.
- Demonstrated teaching or tutoring skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and adapting instruction to individual learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple learners, track progress, and meet reporting or administrative requirements.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and equal opportunities, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is highly beneficial.
- Relevant academic background (e.g., A-levels or degree in a related subject, education, or teaching) is preferred.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development offered by the centre.
