Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Walsall (WS8)
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time
Hours: 32.5 hours per week | 39 weeks per year
Salary: £24,600 – £27,400 per annum (Actual)

Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic HLTA to support students aged 11–16
, providing both 1:1 and small group interventions to help raise attainment and promote positive outcomes across a range of subjects.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support students with additional learning needs.
  • Provide classroom support and assist with learning activities.
  • Work closely with teaching and SEND staff to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Support students with a range of SEND, helping them access the curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independence.
  • Adapt support to meet the changing needs of students, including physical support where required.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with SEND.
  • Patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with students.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
