Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Walsall)
Axcis Education is looking for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work with a local secondary school in Walsall. The role starts immediately with the view of continuing through the next academic year from September. The school prides itself on a supportive, nurturing learning environment and seeks candidates who can help learners develop skills and knowledge both in and out of the classroom.
Responsibilities- Supervise KS3 and KS4 classes during teacher absence
- Deliver pre‑set work and keep pupils focused on learning
- Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm classroom environment
- Support small groups or individual pupils where required
- Work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral team
- Help pupils build confidence, independence, and positive learning habits
- Follow school routines and behaviour policies consistently
- Previous experience supporting children or young people within an educational or academic environment
- A caring and patient nature, with the ability to build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils
- A strong classroom presence and confidence in behaviour management
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
- Availability to work 8:30 am–4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
Pay for this role starts from £92.63 per day.
