Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Walsall)

Axcis Education is looking for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work with a local secondary school in Walsall. The role starts immediately with the view of continuing through the next academic year from September. The school prides itself on a supportive, nurturing learning environment and seeks candidates who can help learners develop skills and knowledge both in and out of the classroom.

• Supervise KS3 and KS4 classes during teacher absence
• Deliver pre‑set work and keep pupils focused on learning
• Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs
• Use positive behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm classroom environment
• Support small groups or individual pupils where required
• Work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral team
• Help pupils build confidence, independence, and positive learning habits
• Follow school routines and behaviour policies consistently

• Previous experience supporting children or young people within an educational or academic environment
• A caring and patient nature, with the ability to build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils
• A strong classroom presence and confidence in behaviour management
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Availability to work 8:30 am–4:00 pm, Monday to Friday

Pay for this role starts from £92.63 per day.
